Honey Rock Landing:
A Name Rooted in Faith and Fruitfulness.
Our name draws inspiration from Deuteronomy 32, the Song of Moses. This song beautifully illustrates God's faithfulness, even in the midst of challenging landscapes.
Here in the Dominguez-Escalante National Conservation Area, we see this played out. While the wider area can be harsh and barren, the land along the Gunnison River is surprisingly fertile, producing exceptionally sweet fruit – a real-life example of "honey from the rock."
The symbolism extends further, with the Bible often portraying Jesus Christ as the Rock from which the sweet "honey" of salvation flows. The Song of Moses, therefore, serves as a powerful reminder of God's provision in all aspects of life, from the simple gift of fruit to the profound gift of eternal life, peace, and freedom.
